About Our dental assistant school

What’s so great about our 12-week dental assisting program? First, how about the 12-week length. Many of our students find employment before they finish our course.

Part of our curriculum has our students extern in dental offices, this means your chances of finding a job are high. Moreover, dental assistants are in high demand. Because we’ve been making great assistants for a while, many offices know to call us when they need to hire.

Below, we will discuss our school in further detail. Also, we’re not just about hitting the books hard. We want you to have fun while you learn. What Exactly Will I Learn?

First, you should know that this isn’t some copy and paste curriculum. In fact, our school was created by Dr. Kelly Smudde. She wrote the entire curriculum from scratch, focused on real world situations and procedures. As a result, she kept in mind what her and her peers look for in a Dental Assistant.

Next is a quote from Dr. Kelly. “I started this school for the everyday person. The ones who work full time jobs, have children at home, or are just burnt out at their current job. We wanted a program that was efficient, well rounded, and put qualified and professional Dental Assistants into the workforce ASAP. I think it is a great option for “non-traditional” students that don’t do well in a typical book learning setting. Our students are up and moving most of the class, getting that incredible hands-on experience.”

Here are the five main things you will learn:

Below, you can see the five main pillars that make up our 12-week course.

First, Dental Assisting (you will learn from professionals in a professional setting) 80 Clock Hours.
Second, Infection Control (keep your work area clean to prevent the spread of infections) 8 Clock Hours.
Third, Radiology (you will learn how to take radiographs on patients) 32 Clock Hours.
Next, Coronal Polishing (prevent plaque buildup by using a rubber cup to clean above the gum line) 12 Clock Hours.
Finally, Pit and Fissure Sealants (bonding plastic resins to the top surfaces of teeth to prevent decay) 16 Clock Hours.

Will I be a Certified dental assistant?

How Long Is the Course?

So, this all sounds pretty good, but how long is the course? I mean why go here over some other place? Because our course lasts 12 weeks and is flexible. For example, currently it’s being held twice a week in the evening to accommodate our students’ busy lives as that is important to us too.

What Do You Need Enroll?

Below is all you will need to enroll and complete our 12-week program:

High school diploma or GED.
Proof of Hepatitis B immunization.
Take and pass 8 quizzes.
Take and pass one written/lab midterm.
Take and pass one written/lab final exam.
Have a cumulative score of 75% or higher.

DENTAL ASSISTANT CONCLUSION

In summary, we’ve learned that our school is legit. In addition, we’re not interested in teaching you things that aren’t relevant to the career. Further, there are no electives for you to take, no history or a foreign language. Professionals in the dental assisting field will train you on how to become a professional yourself.

  I live in Lompoc🥲 and i loved class even though it was a long drive….. it was so worth it! Everyone is so helpful and Mrs. Lindsey is super funny, helpful, and flexible even for me living far. Im also glad class was only a few weeks compared to other schools which are a year or more. Tests and quizzes were easy as long as you studied! Would recommend 10/10!!   This is definitely a great program for someone wanting to enter the field and start working right away! The instructors are super helpful and teach you everything you need to know to succeed.
